Dark Nights: Death Metal – Infinite Hour Exxxtreme! #1 (2020)

R110.00

Story Snapshot

In the middle of DC’s darkest apocalypse, Lobo—the Main Man himself—is pulled into the cosmic chaos of the Dark Multiverse. The mission? Retrieve a powerful item called the Death Metal, but do it the Lobo way: loud, drunk, and covered in blood.

Instead of following orders, Lobo detours through three unhinged side-stories:

  1. He “improves” DC continuity with his own Multiversal origin rewrite.
  2. He becomes Bat-Lobo, a chainsaw-wielding, cigar-chomping fusion of Batman and himself.

  3. And finally, he slaughters his way through the most over-the-top version of the Hall of Justice you’ve ever seen.

It’s gory. It’s stupid. It’s brilliant. And somehow… it ties back into the main Death Metal storyline. Sort of.

Description

Dark Nights: Death Metal – Infinite Hour Exxxtreme! #1 (2020)

A one-shot Lobo-laced intermission from the main Death Metal saga
Writers: Frank Tieri, Becky Cloonan, Sam Humphries | Artists: Multiple

Why It Matters

  • First appearance of Bat-Lobo, a satirical Dark Multiverse fusion.

  • Acts as a meta-comedy break during Death Metal’s grim continuity-heavy core.

  • Art by legends like Tyler Kirkham, Denys Cowan, and Kyle Hotz.

  • Perfectly captures why Lobo works best when he’s written like a parody of superhero excess.

  • Packs 3 short stories into one 48-page one-shot.

Value Estimate

Grade Value (raw)
NM (9.4) US $4–6 ≈ R70–R110
NM+ / Mint US $8–10 ≈ R140–R180
Slabbed 9.8 US $35–50 (R600–R900), but niche demand

Print run was solid due to Death Metal hype, but Lobo collectors eat this issue up for the Bat-Lobo appearance and sheer ridiculousness.
